I Am Who I Am gave the Ten Commandments to the Jews and humanity in order to create Paradise. Paradise is a Physical World without sin. Sin is an action against the Commands. Killing other people is a mortal sin, because this cannot be undone. Other sins can be undone if the person repents. With sin a human cannot enter the Light and their spirit will vanish at the end of life.
The Commands apply from now on for all people.

The Ten Commandments are the most imported aspect of the Old Testament in the Bible. God gave the Ten Commandments to provide a clear standard for holy living, to reveal the nature of sin, and to guide people toward a relationship with Him and a life of peace. The commandments serve as a moral compass, outlining duties to God (the first four) and to others (the last six), while also demonstrating humanity’s need for a savior by showing their inability to perfectly follow the law.

The commandments established a foundation for a relationship with God and for peaceful coexistence with others. They define right from wrong, showing people their own sinfulness and inability to meet God’s righteous standards. hey serve as a “schoolmaster” to lead people to faith and to Christ, who fulfills the law and provides salvation. They are a summary of God’s will, which is centered on loving God and loving one’s neighbor, leading to life and happiness. The commandments were given as part of a covenant between God and the Israelites, signifying His will for them.

Islam does not have a separate, numbered list of “Ten Commandments,” but it incorporates the same core principles in the Quran, primarily in Surah Al-`An’am (6:151-153) and Surah Al-Isra’ (17:23-39). These Islamic teachings include commands to worship one God (Allah), honor parents, and avoid sins like murder, theft, and adultery, which are similar to the commandments in the Torah.
